Who We Are
Sahal University is a non-profit educational institution and one the first universities in the Horn of Africa to offer half-scholarship, accredited and innovative online and regular undergraduate programs, preparing future generations across Africa with knowledge and skills. Sahal was launched by a group of computer engineers in 2010 as a College of Computer Studies. Since then, the Board of Trustees upgraded the institute into a university in September 2016, offering intensive regular and online undergraduate programs.
Sahal University students study in one of two strategically located campuses in Bosaso or Las’anod. At the same time, Sahal University serves the entire population of Somalia and beyond through its distance education programs. In addition, Sahal Software College, which is affiliated with Sahal University, has branches across Somalia in the following cities: Kismayo, Garowe, Las’anod, Widhwidh, Ceegaag, Buuhoodle, Hargeysa, Borama, Burco, Ceerigaabo, and Bosaso, and receives students from other surrounding regions as well.
